The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra is celebrating fifty years of music making in this beautiful valley. Our 50th season is designed to celebrate the great variety of the symphonic repertoire from the classics of Mozart, Schubert and Tchaikovsky to the popular classics of Andrew Lloyd Webber. In this exciting season, we will present three World Premieres by valley composers. We honour our past by looking to our future with a program showcasing the talented youth of the valley and our school program that partners with Governor award winning teacher Rhonda Draper and three hundred of the Glenmore Grizzly singers to present How Canada Came to be. We recreate the very first program the OSO ever played joined by musicians from our past and we cap it all off with the premiere of Imant Raminsh's Quaternity and Beethoven's towering Ninth Symphony, the Ode to Joy. We hope to share this extraordinary music with you. Here's to the next fifty years!
